Powered By Plants: The Ultra

You’ve heard about those weakling vegans. Lacking protein, anemic, wasting away and pasty. Well, this weakling vegan just spent the day running an ultra-marathon in Vermont. It was hot , humid, and hilly but, powered by plants, I ran 32 miles in some of our country’s most gorgeous scenery. There’s a popular T-shirt you see at these events that says “powered by beef.” It was with pride that, after I cleaned up, I wore my “Vegans are Sexy” t-shirt, one for which a young kid in a New Hampshire grocery story paid a memorable compliment.

Hopefully you made it over to dine at Susty’s vegan cafe in Northwood, NH while there, wonderful homecooking by great folks who truly care.

We need more people like you who demonstrate how great being vegan can be. So much more powerful than just words. I’m trying. Working on my first 10k.
